Commuter Ridership Control System

The Commuter ridership control system supplied by VaaaN provides counting to control and restrict ridership based on vessel capacity.

Ridership is controlled using Turnstiles are installed near the gangway. For each pontoon, there is one turnstile for entry and another one for exit. Additionally, manual swing gates have been provisioned for unhindered passage during emergencies as well as for disabled commuters. The Turnstiles are capable of operating bidirectionally. This system is installed near multiple Gangways in a jetty and exchanges boat and passenger information across all jetties which fall in the specific boat's route.

The system identifies the incoming ferry which is fitted with bluetooth low energy (BLE) tags. BLE Readers are placed on the jetty which detects and reports incoming ferry details to the system.
